Press release regarding the article published by Yle on November 29th
Referring to the incorrect information about Oy Teboil Ab recently reported in the media, we want to inform our customers and partners so that there is no confusion about the topics covered by the media.
Unlike what Yleisradio reported on 29.11.2024, we want to correct the following factual errors that were in the original article:
The company buys and has been buying all fuels sold at gas stations from a domestic producer long before the war. With the start of the war, our supply chains have not changed. In addition, the EU introduced a ban on the import of Russian oil products in 2023, which has not affected our business. Our company strictly complies with mandatory legislation and has a zero-tolerance policy for any violations.
The decrease in operating profit in 2022-2023 was due to the narrowing of profit margins following the decrease in oil product market prices after the start of the war in 2022, as well as a significant increase in costs due to inflation. The company's investments in its gas station network and digital services, as well as the EU sanctions prohibiting municipal and state procurement units from entering into contracts with Russian-owned companies, have partially affected the results.
After the start of the war, our company has not paid dividends to shareholders.
Oy Teboil Ab is a limited company established in accordance with the Finnish legal system. Teboil operates under local management only in Finland and makes independent decisions on the operational aspects of its business.
Despite the incorrect information published in the media, we are very grateful that YLE corrected the original article and published the revised version.
